CHAPTER 2: Using vistraxWelcome

As well as starting and ending the visitor welcome message, the context menu allows you to undertake various configuration settings. To do this, open the vistraxWelcome configuration via the menu item “Configuration” in the context menu.

In the following login dialog, log yourself in with your vistrax user data (your user account must have permission to undertake configuration in vistraxWelcome).

The following options are available in the vistraxWelcome configuration.

Settings

Monitor

Current: Select the monitor on which the visitor welcome message should currently be displayed.

Standard: Select the monitor on which the visitor welcome message should be displayed as standard when vistraxWelcome is started

Orientation: This allows the projection area to be rotated in 90° steps.

Attention

The display settings of your Windows desktop needs to be set to „Extend these displays“. If not, the welcome message screen may not be shown correctly.

Automatic Startup

This allows you to set whether the visitor welcome message should begin automatically when the program is started. You can also define whether vistraxWelcome should start automatically when Windows is started.

Use Interface

Here you can adjust the language settings and reset notifications

Welcome System Defaults

Here you can define for which period of time your visitors' personal welcome message should be shown.

Database

Here you can filter visitor data intended for display on the actual welcome message screen. First select either a single mandator or all mandators from the list, and then set the visitor status and the gates which the welcome message is intended for. The database language determines the language of the vistrax dictionary to be used.

Presentation

Design

vistraxWecome offers you two design templates (so-called “Projectors”). The page projector displays every visitor on his/her own page, while the list projector displays multiple visitors at the same as a list on the page. List and page projectors can both be configured independently of one another

Properties

Here you can select the properties of the screen presentation, e.g. background, colors, fonts in your corporate design etc.

Explanations of the properties are displayed in a gray highlighted box under the settings. Explanations can also be displayed by clicking on the corresponding property. In addition, property groups (welcome message, corporate design, background slideshow, idle slideshow, various) can be made visible or invisible by clicking as appropriate on the plus/minus button.

a) Welcoming
In the left column you can define factors including which visitor data and data about your company (i.e. logo, name, company website) should be displayed on the welcome message screen.

The wording of the salutation and the announcement of the host apply for all visitors to be welcomed in a specific time period - this cannot be set individually.

Wording examples:
- Greeting: “Welcome…”

- Naming Host: “…is happy to welcome…”

Note

Be aware that the employee information is only displayed when in the field 'Naming Host' a corresponding text has been specified.

Hinweis

Be aware that photos or logos will only appear if they have previously been added to vistrax. As the image files in the background are synchronized with the database, a slight delay may occur when photos or logos are first displayed.

b)Corporate Design
Here you have the option of modifying corporate design properties.

c) Info View
The info display allows you to display additional pictures and an additional greeting text. The intervals at which this info display is shown can be configured by selecting one of the options available.

d) Backround Slideshow
The background slideshow allows you to play photos and videos in the background while the welcome message is being displayed. As far as possible, select backgrounds which are delicate and soft without bold shapes, so that the text stands out well. Select the folder in which the files to be displayed are located and adjust further settings for the slideshow as required. If the files are sorted alphabetically, you can control the order in which they are displayed by naming them appropriately (e.g. by including a numerical prefix).

Note

For optimal display, ensure the backgrounds are provided in a resolution matching the display screen. Also be aware of whether the images have a landscape or portrait orientation. If you wish to include videos, use the WMV format if possible.

e) Idle Info View
The idle info display is based on the info display mentioned above. It is only shown when no welcome messages are being displayed and the welcome screen is therefore in idle mode. The configuration options available are the same as those available for the info display.

f) Idle Slideshow
The idle slideshow is based on the background slideshow mentioned above. It is only shown when no welcome messages are being displayed and the welcome screen is therefore in idle mode. The configuration options available are the same as those available for the background slideshow.

g) Misc
The “Misc” function allows you to limit the information displayed on the welcome screen. You can chose between “Show visitors and employees” and “Only show visitors”.

Caching

Here you can manage the path and size of the cache. The cache serves to accelerate media loading.

As far as possible, these settings should only be changed if requested by vistrax support

Logging

Here you can manage the recording of application functions.

Only change these settings if you are requested to do so by vistrax support

License Management

Copy your personal license key and insert it into the corresponding field (i.e. using the copy and paste function). Clicking “Add” activates the license.

The upper table offers you an overview of the current licenses on the workstations in use.

Colored symbols in the left-hand column give additional information on licenses' validity. A green dot designates a valid license and a gray dot designates an invalid or expired license. A yellow dot designates a used license on an update path.
